Building a Culture of Prayer Together Retreat

St. Francis de Sales Parish is hosting a retreat on Saturday, April 11 called "Building a Culture of Prayer Together." You may begin this retreat with an 8:30am Mass and/or join us in the Ministry Center at 9am. We will provide a continental breakfast and refreshments during the retreat from 9am - 12:15pm.

Josh Danis will be our guest speaker. He will give three presentations: Listen to inspirational stories of the power of prayer. Learn from compelling and concrete examples how we can grow individually and as a community in our prayer life.

Imagine sharing life with other faith-filled people where you can celebrate each other's joys and give and receive support during challenging times

In between his presentations, there will be time for discussion to apply what he presents to ourselves, our families and our St. Francis de Sales Parish. As we prepare to welcome our new pastor, we want to support each other and come together in prayer.

This retreat is open to all.

Members of the early church devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:4

Join us as we reignite the devotion of those Christian communities to learning, fellowship, communion, and prayer.

This gathering will be at the St Francis de Sales Ministry Center at

135 S Buesching, Lake Zurich

The Ministry Center is located south of the church building.

St Francis de Sales is partnering with Hallow to go deeper into prayer this Lenten season. Watch for the special St Francis de Sales code to get our group discount.

  • Free access to "Lent Pray 40" content on the Hallow App (free and no credit card required)

  • Access to a full trial of the Hallow App for 9 months for only $1!

  • 20% discount on the annual subscription ($56 instead of $70)

The Hallow team works to ensure Hallow always stays 100% authentically catholic & aligned with the Church.

The goal of our partnership is to help people encounter the Jesus, form robust personalized daily habits of prayer, and help the formation of small Christian communities who pray together -- where people are praying for each other and with each other. Through these prayers we are fueling the mission of the parish - fueling the hopes for the parish

STORY OF THE HALLOW APP

The Hallow app was created in 2018 by Alex Jones. Read more about his story HERE.

Alex Jones: "I grew up Catholic, but fell away from my faith. I became fascinated with secular meditation, but always felt like something was missing – like I was being pulled towards something deeper.

I started asking everyone I knew if there was any sort of intersection between meditation and faith, and what I found changed my life…

The Holy Spirit quickly pulled together our amazing team and we began learning about the Church’s beautiful tradition of prayer & meditation. Not just what we all knew from grade school, but deep and transformative contemplative and meditative prayer techniques. So we quit our jobs and began building Hallow. We launched the app at the end of 2018, and have just been working to make it better ever since."

Bible Study: Hebrews

Hebrews: The New & Eternal Covenant

Presented by Andrew Swafford & Jeff Cavins

Hebrews: The New and Eternal Covenant draws out the riches of this book in a way that makes them easier to understand. It draws connections between the Old and New Testaments, the Liturgy, the Eucharist, the priesthood, and so much more. Most importantly, Hebrews will help Catholics appreciate the astounding generosity of God as they see the wonders he has given us in the Church.

Beginning Wednesday, October 9th @ 7pm & Thursday, October 10 @ 10am at the Ministry Center.

The series will be presented in the Ministry Center and is also available online if you miss a week.
