KoC Star Council Award 2026
/
Our very own Saint Francis de Sales Knights of Columbus Council 3954 received the distinction of Star Council for 2025-2026, the international organization’s top award for local councils and one earned by less than 25% of Knights councils in the Chicago Archdiocese.
The Star Council Award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership (115% growth), promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities. Here are the highlights of the many ways our Knights Council serves our parish, community, and advances the kingdom of God.
Monthly Pancake Breakfasts in Fr. Valker Hall, serving as many as 200 people
Lenten Friday Fish Fry Dinners, raising funds for local charities
Knights Watch Program, where Knights serve and protect students walking into church Friday mornings during the school year
Parking Lot Mass, seven Knights serve and operate the 11AM Parking lot mass every Sunday, now for 6 consecutive years
Red Cross blood drive with 29 pints of blood donated and ready to save lives
Exodus 90, seven men of our council committed to over 90 days of prayer, fasting, asceticism to grow closer to Jesus before and during the Lenten season
Raised and donated nearly $3000 for GiGi’s Playhouse charity
Our Council has added over 40 new members in the past four years, with 15 in 2025, with new men joining every month.
We encourage all men who feel the call to serve as a Knight to join us at any of our upcoming events.
