St. Vincent de Paul Needs Your Help: Would you like to serve your community with a gift of your time for 2 hours per week? Volunteers are needed to pick up donations from local stores! St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry Leaders Needed: The St. Vincent DePaul Society is in need of adult volunteers to serve as Food Pantry leaders on Thursday evenings for food distribution. Volunteers would need to be available Thursday evenings, at least 1-2 times per month, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Training will be provided. Above average PC skills would be a plus. Ability to speak Spanish, a plus. These leadership positions involve setting up in advance of the arrival of our guests at 6 p.m..  This includes setting up the computers, printer, scanner, and applications required to run the food pantry.  It also includes being the central point of contact for all volunteers that evening, should questions arise.  It includes working with our clients to ensure they have been provided excellent service.  Finally, it includes closing everything down for the evening, making sure the facility is back in order, doors are locked, etc. If this might interest you, please contact St. Vincent de Paul Society at 847-726-4890 to arrange an in-person meeting to get more information.

Life Teen Youth Ministry: Our Youth Ministry Program is currently in need of volunteers to serve in a variety of capacities, including serving as Confirmation leaders and/or helping with Life Teen Mass, Life Nights, retreats, Wednesday Night Adoration, and our Prayer Team. Five Minutes a Day to Feed the Hungry: Emmaus House of Hospitality, a ministry at St. Francis de Sales, has a volunteer job opening for Food Rescue Coordinator. This assignment assists an existing network of volunteers who pick up donated food at local food vendors. The job essentially is checking e-mail and phone for messages from volunteers and ensuring that all pick-up commitments are made. Please call Bob Gorman at (847) 322-5176 for information.

Bereavement Ministry Seeks Volunteers: If you are looking for an opportunity to serve the St. Francis de Sales community, there is a gratifying position waiting for you. The Bereavement Ministry is in need of two volunteers to prepare the Worship Aides that are provided to mourners attending Funeral Liturgies at our parish. The booklets are extremely important as guides to those attending funerals from outside our community who may not be families within the Catholic Faith.

Requirements are experience using computers and a willingness to learn a simple procedure to prepare the booklets. Training is provided. This is an on-call, rotation position. Ushers Needed: We are looking for additional men and women to serves as ushers at our weekend Masses. We hope to increase our current ushers by an additional 20, to ensure that ALL of our ushers have options for scheduling and back-up in case anyone is on vacation, ill, etc. The usher's role is important. Responsibilities include greeting parishioners and guests, safeguarding the people in the Church, answering questions, direction people to pews, chairs, and restrooms, hospitality, as well as stewardship.
