St. Peregrine was miraculously healed of cancer after praying all night before an image of the crucified Christ. He is known throughout the world as the patron saint of cancer patients. There is a place for you, a place of comfort, peace, and hope. Healing can come in many ways. Join us as we pray to gather strength to continue the fight, to give thanks for being healed, and to honor the memory of those who are now in the arms of Jesus. Place your hope in our Lord and Savior.
Friday, September 7
Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held at St. Francis de Sales every First Friday immediately following the 8:30 a.m. Mass, and continuing until 4 p.m. Eucharistic Adoration honors the special presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is a profession of faith in the real bodily presence of Jesus. One of the best ways to look at prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is to see it as an extension of Holy Communion. Our souls are fed and our minds and wills are strengthened and given light, that we may go about the tasks of our daily lives. Please come and spend some time in prayer with the Lord. For more information, please call Denise Alianello at (847) 726-1307 or Lillian Shutty at (847) 682-4555.

Downtown Lake Zurich
Please come out and support Emmaus House of Hospitality at Lake Zurich’s 6th Annual Rock the Block on Saturday, September 8, 2018! Each year the Village of Lake Zurich holds a free downtown block party to bring our community together by dining, dancing and rediscovering Lake Zurich. Starting at 5 p.m., there will be local restaurants, food trucks, balloon art, face painting, and entertainment by 7th Heaven, Suburban Cowboys and Breakfast Club.
Emmaus House Hospitality, along with the US Navy will be on site collecting canned goods and selling raffle tickets to help provide for the less fortunate in the community. Last year we collected enough money to make just over 18,000 meals and approximately 600 lbs. of food. Every dollar collected makes five meals for the less fortunate. 100% of all proceeds goes to Emmaus House Hospitality. Raffle winner does not need to be present to win.

Join us for a three-night Parish Mission at St. Francis de Sales! We will be discovering the answers to the three deepest questions in the human heart: Who am I? What's my purpose in this life? What happens to me after I die? It's about experiencing the love, freedom, and intimacy with God that we were originally created for. Topics will be as follows:
Monday Night: The Father's Love
Tuesday Night: The Redemption Story
Wednesday Night: The Gift of the Holy Spirit
Deacon Keith Strohm will guide the Parish Mission. He is the former Director of the Office for the New Evangelization and is a deacon for the Archdiocese of Chicago. A well-known international speaker and conference keynote, he has helped tens of thousands of men and women hear the Gospel message and encounter the mercy, love, and power of Jesus Christ.

Fr. Valker Hall
Calling all crafters and prospective volunteers, your help is needed. The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) will be hosting a Craft Fair on October 13, 2018 in Fr. Valker Hall in honor of local Lake Zurich teen Matthew D. COTA has helped families such as Matthew's with transplant related expenses and that will continue throughout his life.
What can you do to help? First, if you are a crafty person, please contact us as we would love to have you sign up to participate in our fair. All crafters are welcomed. Table fees are given directly to charity and are tax deductible. Request an application for further information.
Second, this is a huge undertaking and our volunteers are few and far between. If anyone would be interested in helping in the kitchen, helping plan a menu, be in charge of decorations or a person to help with collecting canned goods for the food pantry, please let us know. We are currently trying to assemble teams of people so it all runs smoothly and not be a huge burden on one person. All help would be greatly appreciated.
Please e-mail Nancy Dobson at email@example.com for an application to be a crafter or to inquire about becoming a volunteer.
