"The Wild Goose" Project

Wednesday, May 23
7 to 8:30 p.m.
Ministry Center

St. Francis de Sales Parish invites women (only) of all ages to attend our summer series for the first six weeks when we present "The Wild Goose" with Father Dave Pivonka. After that, the remaining 8 sessions will be open to the parish as a whole.

The summer series will be based on the aesthetically beautiful video series by Father Dave Pivonka - "The Wild Goose" - that helps everyday Christians live a more profound life in relationship to the Holy Spirit. We will have prayer, sharing, hospitality (food, of course!), and fellowship. The video (20-25 min.) will serve as a talking point from which we can share in our small groups, answer 2-3 questions, pray together, and stay connected by socializing and testimonials.

Click here to take a peek.

After the first six weeks, the series will be opened to the parish at large for the summer. At this point, you may invite friends, spouses, family, etc. to continue this series with you! The remaining Wednesday nights will continue with the same concepts of questions, sharing, and fellowship. The videos will not repeat, but be a new one each week. If you need to miss one week, it is not a continuation, so that is not an issue.

Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Friday, June 1
Church

Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held at St. Francis de Sales every First Friday immediately following the 8:30 a.m. Mass, and continuing until 4 p.m. Eucharistic Adoration honors the special presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is a profession of faith in the real bodily presence of Jesus. One of the best ways to look at prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is to see it as an extension of Holy Communion. Our souls are fed and our minds and wills are strengthened and given light, that we may go about the tasks of our daily lives. Please come and spend some time in prayer with the Lord. For more information, please call Denise Alianello at (847) 726-1307 or Lillian Shutty at (847) 682-4555.

Calling All Crafters!

Saturday, October 13
*Time to be determined.
Fr. Valker Hall

Calling all crafters and prospective volunteers, your help is needed. The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) will be hosting a Craft Fair on October 13, 2018 in Fr. Valker Hall in honor of local Lake Zurich teen Matthew D. COTA has helped families such as Matthew's with transplant related expenses and that will continue throughout his life.

What can you do to help? First, if you are a crafty person, please contact us as we would love to have you sign up to participate in our fair. All crafters are welcomed. Table fees are given directly to charity and are tax deductible. Request an application for further information.

Second, this is a huge undertaking and our volunteers are few and far between. If anyone would be interested in helping in the kitchen, helping plan a menu, be in charge of decorations or a person to help with collecting canned goods for the food pantry, please let us know. We are currently trying to assemble teams of people so it all runs smoothly and not be a huge burden on one person. All help would be greatly appreciated.

Please e-mail Nancy Dobson at nancbear@sbcglobal.net for an application to be a crafter or to inquire about becoming a volunteer.
