Volunteer Opportunities

Catechists Needed for Religious Education: We are in need of catechists for all grades and sessions in our Religious Education program. If you enjoy both children and your faith, we ask that you prayerfully consider being a part of this important ministry. Training, support, online classes, and ongoing encouragement are provided. Please call the Religious Education Office at (847) 726-4850 to volunteer or to request further information.

Discussion Leaders Needed for Confirmation Program: 1st Year Confirmation leaders are needed to lead teens in small group class discussions. Classes meet 10 times a year, once or twice per month, September to April, on Sunday evenings from 4:45 to 8 p.m., including the 5 p.m. Life Teen Mass. Leaders will lead discussions, activities, and faith formation in the Life Teen Confirmation Program. Group leader meetings are held once or twice each month to prepare you to teach the lessons planned for class. This meeting is held the week before the scheduled Sunday class. Lesson plans for the entire school year are given to leaders in advance for review. As a Confirmation leader, you are welcome to co-lead a class with your spouse or a friend. If the Holy Spirit is calling you to this worthwhile ministry, please contact Cathy Chiarelli, Youth Ministry Coordinator, at (847) 726-4842.

Cross Bearers Needed: If you are in 8th grade or high school, strong, and responsible, we need you! Please consider serving as a Cross Bearer at our weekend Masses. You can choose which Mass time or times you're willing to help at and training will be provided. For more information, contact Kathy Brady-Murfin at (847) 726-4850 or

Music Ministry Opportunities

Sing, Sing, Sing!: Do you like to sing? Are you looking for a way to deepen your faith life? Consider joining our Parish Choir! Our Choir will be starting rehearsals on Wednesday, September 14. We welcome new members. No auditions, just a nice voice and a love of singing! The Choir sings at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays, Christmas, and Holy Week/Easter. Rehearsals are held in the Ministry Center Choir Room on Wednesdays, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Contact Pat Stewart, Director of Liturgical Music, at or (847) 726-4720. Ask a choir member about their experience with this wonderful ministry!

Ring Those Bells!: Due to a sabbatical for one of our members, we have an opening in our Handbell Choir. Are you an experienced ringer or do you know someone who is? Our members do not have to be registered at the church, but must love to play and be looking to be more involved in our liturgy. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings in the Church, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, contact Pat Stewart, Director of Liturgical Music, at or (847) 726-4720.

Share Your Talents: What instrument do you play? We are looking for teens to share their musical talents with us on weekends for Mass. Do you play in the band or orchestra? We welcome you to play for us! This is not a commitment for every week, but when schedules allow. We provide the music. It is a wonderful way to pray and grow closer to the Lord. The mass becomes more meaningful through active participation. If interested, contact Pat Stewart, Director of Liturgical Music, at or (847) 726-4720.

Youth Choir Recruitment: Youth Choir for children in grades 3-8 rehearses Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Ministry Center. We sing on the first Saturday of each month at the 5 p.m. Mass, Christmas Eve, and Easter Sunday. Please carefully decide whether you can commit to our choir from September through April, as your director and fellow singers will depend on you to honor your commitment. Rehearsals and Youth Choir Masses as published in the Youth Choir calendar will be need to be a priority. We will need at least 15-20 dedicated children to form a choir. Call, text, or e-mail Bob Moffett at (847) 345-0808 or by August 15 to register your child for this year's Youth Choir. Our first rehearsal is Thursday, September 1.

Volunteer at the Jubilee Garden and Make a Difference!

Help supply our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Emmaus House Community Dinner with fresh, organic vegetables by volunteering at our Jubilee Garden on Saturday mornings! Kids are welcome and can earn their credit hours here.

The garden meets every Saturday morning now through October - from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. weather-permitting. Even an hour of your time is greatly appreciated. No gardening experience necessary! The garden is located on the north side of Route 22, east of Quentin.

Thank you to everyone in the past who has donated their time and treasure. Come, help us celebrate our 18th year! Work off some of your stress and help feed hungry people. Any questions, please contact Janet Gozzola at (847) 540-0672 or
