Prayer Service will begin at 3 p.m. in St.
Francis de Sales Church. Confessions will be available after the 12:30
p.m. Mass and again after the 3 p.m. prayer service until the 5 p.m. Mass.
All are welcome and encouraged to join us.
Sunday, April 27, the Catholic Church
will also celebrate the canonization of Blesseds Pope John XXIII and
Pope John Paul II. Pope Francis will declare these men saints of the
Catholic Church, giving Catholics everywhere a reason to rejoice as we
look to them as models of holiness.
A brief history of Divine Mercy Sunday...
appeared to St. Faustina for the first time on February 22, 1931 and
gave her His first revelation about His Divine Mercy. Jesus' message is
that He desires mankind to avail itself to the infinite mercy of God on
earth. Jesus offers complete forgiveness of sins and punishments if we
do a few simple tasks. We are askd to attend Mass and receive Holy
Communion on Divine Mercy Sunday. We also should say the Divine Mercy
Chaplet and venerate the Divine Mercy Image. A good confession must be
made 20 days before or after Divine Mercy Sunday.

The St. Francis de Sales Parish Auction is our largest fundraiser. The goal of the event is to raise much-needed funds to support our parish's charitable endeavors and the numerous repairs our beloved church needs in order to keep our worship space in good working order. Funds raised from this year's Auction will be used towards Church operating expenses, such as the increased cost for snow removal with this third worst winter in Chicagoland recorded weather history.
